Last week you may have noticed that I didn’t do a weekly training recap. Not because I had a bad week, but because my blog layout is so wonky right now. Well, it’s still all messed up, but I’m just going to post. I thought with the most posts I did with this wonkiness, I might lose content, but my blog guru, Brian, says otherwise. Hopefully we can get it all worked out soon and my blog layout is back to normal. Apparently something with the CSS broke. However, if you can just get past the horrible lay out, my content is still there. Sorry though guys! It’s driving me batty and you guys probably don’t even notice and/or care.
This week didn’t see the miles that I had last week, but I did get some other workouts in other than just running. I really need to balance those miles. I think my goal for May will just be 20 miles a week and 3 other non-running workouts. I’ve also toyed with the idea of joining LA Fitness which is close to my new job, but not sure if I want to take on that expense right now. It would be nice because I can get in other cardio workouts, group classes and even yoga. Oh, how I’d love to get back into yoga!
Monday: Core de Force – MMA Speed
Tuesday: 3.5 miles, 37:41, 10:47/mile (1 mile up, 2×800, 1 mile down)
Wednesday: Core de Force – MMA Speed
Saturday: 10 miles, 1:55:52, 11:35/mile
Total Miles: 13.5 miles
Even though I did get in 2 non-running workouts, my two runs were my highlights. On Tuesday, I got back to the track and started easy. I only did 2×800 with a mile warm up and cool down, but it was just nice to get back there. I hadn’t been on the track since last September before the Air Force Marathon. I’ll be slowly adding track workouts back. Since I am close to Schenley Park, I’ll probably be there a lot over the summer.
My Saturday long run was so much better than the previous week. For one, my shorts didn’t split and two, I just felt so much stronger. I finally got to meet up with Hollie and we got in 10 miles together. For awhile now, we’ve been talking about getting in some miles together so it was nice to do it for some key miles before the Pittsburgh Marathon Half. I forgot to turn my watch back onto auto lap from Tuesday’s track workout, so I didn’t get mile splits, but overall it felt pretty good. I was feeling fatigued in the last half mile, but otherwise, I was confident in my run. Less than 2 weeks until race day!
On a side note, I have today and one more Monday to ask you all to help my fundraising campaign!! Although my Crowdrise says $1,925, I have $65 in cash donations to add this week, so I am *THISCLOSE* to getting over the $2,000 mark!! PLEASE help me with a simple $10 donation! Yes, that is all I am asking for… $10!! That’s 2 beers to pass up this week or 2 fancy Starbucks coffees. Getting to this goal is so important to me. PLEASE consider a quick $10 donation this week to my fundraising campaign. Go HERE for that $10 donation! THANK YOU!!!
