Okay, where did January, February, March and April go? Am I the only one that feels like this year is just flying by? I truly cannot believe it’s already May! And that the Pittsburgh Marathon weekend is just around the corner. I was certainly hoping this weekend would be better in terms of being able to run the Pittsburgh half for time, but at this point I am just going to be excited to finish my 40th overall half. Goals this spring have certainly morphed from what I originally set out for, but that’s life and that’s part of the adventure in a way. Not everything goes perfectly along the way.
Last week did not rack up the miles. Nope. No where close. I didn’t even break 10 miles for the week. However, they were some fun and very solid 9 miles that I got in. My run on Saturday was pretty strong. It was our last Pro Bike & Group Run before the Pittsburgh Marathon and a nice celebration for the miles the group has put in. It was sort of a free for all run, so I started out with Renee, Wendy & Dani. Renee and I stuck together and tended to get a little fast at times. We both seemed to feel good about it, but slowed down and I was happy to see that 11:31 average pace. I hope to see something around there for Pittsburgh.

The other workouts I got in this week were doing some Beachbody on-line workouts. I did 3 different ones this past week and all were in the morning before work. The funniest one might have been Wednesday’s when I tried this dance workout video. Let’s just say this girl has no moves and it showed. I still got my heart rate up and a good sweat going through! My goal will be to do those 3 times a week and hopefully in the mornings too. It’s certainly a great way to start the day.
In non-running fun last week, I actually got to hit up some of the Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week events! On Wednesday, Lauren and I walked down to Allegheny City Brewing Co for their Pups and Pints night. They said they would have puppies for adoption and that we could pet, but there were none. They collaborated with 3 other breweries to brew a light wheat ale and $1 went to the Humane Animal Rescue. The other event I attended was a sours vs barrel-aged tasting on Saturday at Caliente. I tasted 6 very good sours and loved the event. They were certainly beers that I probably wouldn’t gotten my hands on. It’s crazy how 2 years ago, I would have never even had thought about enjoying PCBW. Things do change!
Don’t forget folks that I have 6 more days to fundraise for Our Clubhouse!! EVERY $10 DONATIONS MAKES A DIFFERENCE!! PLEASE consider making a donation to my campaign HERE. THANK YOU!! I am $257 away from my $2,500 goal. I just need 26 friends to donate that $10 to help me get there!
