This week didn’t necessarily go as planned. I definitely had planned to get in about 5-8 more miles throughout the week, but it just wasn’t there. My run on Thursday I actually had planned to do at least 6 miles, but just as I hit mile 2, I had some major stomach pain. This wasn’t like a normal stomach cramp, but every step I took just major pain. It took all I had to get back to my car over that last half mile. I thought I was try and relax in the car a bit, but that was a no go to. Not only did I just feel bad, but I hated losing out on that amazing day. Being Christmas Eve, I had all the time that day to run and just to have lost it to stupid stomach pain. Grrrr!
This week really was a nice relaxing week though. While most everyone was traveling or going crazy for Christmas, I actually enjoyed a lot of time to myself and got to relax. That of course meant a lot of time on the couch with the cats and Netflix, but I wasn’t complaining. I definitely ate too much and didn’t even blink twice at that. Sometimes you just need to enjoy that type of down time.
Tuesday: 3 miles, 28:57, 9:39/mile + 20 min kettle bells
Thursday: 2.5 miles, 25:59, 10:48/mile
Saturday: 8.1 miles, 1:35:56, 11:51/mile
Total Miles: 13.6 miles
This was the last week before my official training kicks off for Pittsburgh. I have a feeling there will be some adjustments to the original plan based on races I will end up doing. I keep talking about moving up to the marathon for Rock n Roll DC and I think if I feel good by the beginning of February, I might just do that. Basically that means I need to ramp right back up in the mileage. Either way, it’s time to get my butt in gear and get on it. I set my 2016 goals and some of them are pretty lofty and it all starts now.
