The past few weeks have been a little crazy. I haven’t really been putting many posts out lately because I’m still trying to balance being on the road for my FT job so much, my running, my PT job and everything else. Needless to say, blogging has just taken a slightly back seat lately. I know I will find the balance at some point, but right now, I am no where near balanced in life.
Two weeks ago I was down and out with a cold. It hit me pretty hard and I ended up basically sitting out for that entire week. Finally by Monday/Tuesday of last week I was feeling better. Not quite 100% but definitely much better than I was. This past week also brought in some of the first cold weather runs. Since I didn’t quite pack cold wear gear for all of my runs this week and I was still bit under the weather I decided to hit the treadmill on Tuesday night. I also was staying in a new area for work and didn’t quite know the area enough to feel comfortable for a night run.
The best run of the week was certainly on Wednesday night. I was back in the Cleveland area and decided to get some miles along the Shaker Median Trail. The trail itself it literally the median between a 4 lane road. It’s very wide, but just very strange. It’s only about 1.5 miles long but extends a little due to hooking up with some other park area. Since I knew I couldn’t get my full 8 miles on the trail, I did some weaving in and around some of the neighborhood roads. It was certainly my longest week night run in some time and overall just felt great. The crisp fall air was perfect.
Tuesday: 3 miles, 30:40, 10:13/mile (Treadmill)
Wednesday: 8 miles, 1:28:27, 11:03/mile
Thursday: 5 miles, 54:14, 10:52/mile & Flag Football
Total Miles: 16 miles
The plan for my Thursday miles was to get them in in the morning. Well, I was up late working and had a 9am meeting, so it just didn’t happen. Instead as soon as I got home, I got out there for another set of fantastic miles and then headed out to the last game of the PSL Flag Football season. I am happy to report my team, Team Faygo, took home the championship. It was actually a repeat championship for our fall league.
I missed my weekend miles as I headed down to Cincinnati for a friend’s Birthday Bash! This was the second year for Gordan’s bash and certainly was a great night! They host a few artists for some great live music at their home. Needless to say, I had a great time catching up with friends and listening to some amazing music (and discovering some new artists). Sometimes it’s totally okay to miss miles so you just can enjoy life.
