Since I started blogging and building up Pittsburgh City Girl, I have connected with so many amazing people through blogs, Twitter, Instagram and much more. I feel like I truly have another family with all of these amazing people. For this week’s Five Things Friday, I am going to highlight 5 of these amazing people as I think you should be connecting with them as well!
– Nathan: This guy is just awesome. The poor guy can’t run in anything under 60 degrees without freezing, but besides that, this guy is just fast. Last fall he came up for our Akron race weekend and the morning of the race it was an amazing but it was too cold for him so he threw on 2 pairs of socks. I don’t think he’ll ever live that one down. Even with 2 pairs of socks, this guy is speedy and I only know amazing things will happen for him in the next few years. If I only had 1/10th of that guys speed I’d be happy.
– Carlee: I have loved connecting with Carlee on social media. I don’t think I have ever seen a picture of her posted where isn’t smiling. Her enthusiasm in everything she does truly comes out in her smile. She is so dedicated to what she does. Even better, at around 3am (maybe 4am) during Ragnar SoCal, I looked up and there she was! If you don’t already follow this girl, make sure you get on that today and you’re day will certainly be brightened!
– Ashley: I connected with Ashley when we were both selected as SWEET Workout Ambassadors. This girl is impressive and I don’t say that to say that. From my perspective, she has been crushing 2015! She is an avid crossfitter and during the Crossfit Open this year scored high enough to represent Alaska at the Crossfit AK competition. It was her first major competition and she crushed that opportunity! In addition to that, she has had a whirlwind tour in what those Alaskans called the ‘Lower 48’ over the last 6 weeks visiting multiple crossfit boxes and earning her Spartan Trifecta and not just relaxing on a beach.
– Tiffany: This lady might be the sweetest person I’ve connected with on Twitter and Instagram. Whenever I post something, good or bad, she is there to cheer you on or give you a little push if you need it. I would definitely love to try and find a race in her area to meet her in person as I think she probably is 100x sweeter in person. There has definitely been so many times her small words on post have meant so much to me and have helped push me to getting the job done. I am so glad we have been able to connect.
– Steff: I truly can’t say enough about this girl. She is not only just awesome but also takes the time to help me on all my running and personal issues that come up. Late in 2014, I think Steff showed just how awesome she is. Late in the year she was diagnosed with a stress fracture in her foot. This was a hard blow since she had RnR NOLA coming up and was shooting for sub-4 hours, but instead of giving up, she listened to her doctors and decided to just go out and have some fun. It might have been her slowest marathon, but to run 26.2 miles just 5 weeks after getting out of a boot shows just how bad ass this woman is! She has a big goal for 2015 and I am anxious to be there to see her hit that goal!
