Happy Friday and welcome to Fall! Well, I think welcome to Fall. This week certainly did not fully reflect on fall temps as I was out all week running in shorts and a tank. I’m certainly not complaining about that. I would prefer those slightly warmer and no humidity temps over anything. Also it helps keep the laundry load down. I always find in the winter that my laundry is doubled just because I am wearing more layers out there. Since it is a beautiful Friday afternoon, I thought putting out a Five Things Friday would be a great way to start the weekend. If you’re racing this weekend, good luck!
1 – The regular season of my flag football league has wrapped up as of last evening and Team Faygo is officially in first place heading into the playoffs. Hopefully we stay on our game and come home with the championship this year. Funny thing to, I happened to notice on twitter today that the brand Faygo turns 109 today. Maybe that’s a sign of good luck and we’ll be spraying some Faygo at a championship win soon!
2 – Last week I received my first piece of Momentum Jewelry, which I had won from Ciara’s blog! I was so happy to have fun. I got to pick any saying/color combination that I wanted. I have to say the eggplant is a great color and very happy about my choice! Thanks again to Ciara and Momentum for sponsoring this giveaway!
3 – Putting out a shoe for a big race seems to be the big thing these days from shoe companies. Well, Altra has put out an NYC shoe for this weekend’s NYC Marathon and I want it! It’s a badass shoe. Sure, I am not running the NYC Marathon, but I do run in NYC when I am there, so that counts, right?! Either way, these will be mine!
4 – This past week I finally decided I would run the YMCA Turkey Trot 5 miler. I normally do the 5k race, but figured I would step it up to the 5 miler. I have actually only ever raced one 5 mile race before, so let’s hope I can maybe squeeze out a PR. The only PR’s I’ve had this year have come from new distances, so it would be nice to get a legit one by year’s end.
5 – There is still time to register for the Mississippi Blues Marathon or half! It takes place on 1-7-17 so it’s the perfect way to start off the new year! You can save $10 off registration with code MBM17CP as well. I’ll be running the half to cross MS off on my list, so hopefully I will see you there!
Do you plan on racing on Thanksgiving? If so, which race?
