Hi! I’m Chelsea and I’m lucky enough to live in the great city of Pittsburgh. I’ve called Pittsburgh home for almost 9 years and wouldn’t change that for anything. The past 9.5 years have been quite a journey. I now call myself a runner, however, that was not always the case. Early in 2011, I started my weight loss journey. After seeing pictures of myself from vacation that January, I knew I needed to change my lifestyle and make some big changes. I made the goal to lose 50lbs by May 2011.
Four and half months later, the hard work of getting back into the gym and eating right paid off.
During that time frame, I slowly fell in love with running. At first I couldn’t run a mile without stopping every 2 minutes, but that didn’t stop me for signing up for my first 5K in November 2011. I had no idea what to do for training and just figured I’d wing it. My goal: No walking. I hit the goal and instantly became hooked to racing! Instead of taking my time and slowly getting into local races, I decided to jump right into running a half marathon and have never looked back. In 2015, I even ran my first marathon and followed that up with my first ultramarathon in 2016. Since then, I have run over 100 races and have no plans of stopping anytime soon.
I’ve said for years I would start a blog, so here it is. There will be lots of talk about running and even my crazy travel adventures. I hope you enjoy the ride and maybe even pick up a thing or two to help you along your journey.
